Following his role in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk alongside Cillian Murphy and Harry Styles, the Summerhill native has been listed as one of Variety’s ’10 actors to watch for 2017′.
Keoghan is set to star in The Killing of a Sacred Deer alongside Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman this November, while he’s currently working on two more films.
Past honorees in Variety’s prestigious list include Oscar winners and nominees Viola Davis, Brie Larson and Lupita Nyong’o.
Despite his growing profile, the former Love/Hate star (24) recently told the Herald that he would never forsake his home city for the bright lights of Hollywood.
“Jesus, no. I feel that it’s a great place to be [LA], good vibes or whatever, but here I feel I have my feet on the ground, or in the mud as it may be.
“I’m surrounded by good people and I just think over there, it could go to my head and I don’t want that,” he said.
“Taking the movie home is unreal, as is getting to tell this story, which a lot of Irish people don’t know about. There were a lot of Irish in it but young lads don’t know about it.”
